It has long been known within the Scotch whisky industry and indeed within our family that each individual oak cask imparts its own unique character to the spirit maturing within it. No two casks, even ones which have been filled at the same distillery on the same day, will have identical taste profiles when assessed side by side after many years of ageing.

This endless variety of flavour experiences is celebrated by way of our Old Malt Cask range of single cask bottlings. Drawing on his decades of experience our Master Blender samples dozens of casks in our warehouses with the assistance of our tasting panel, and marks off a chosen few each month that are worthy of being bottled as unique releases. These Old Malt Cask whiskies are then reduced to our preferred strength of 50% alcohol before being bottled without artificial colouring or chill filtration, thus allowing the full intensity of the mouthfeel and flavour profile to be appreciated.
